  • Dating in Today's Economy

With the economic and financial collapse around the world going on, are singles no longer ready to mingle?  Are people too busy watching CNN, clenching their jobs with their iron fists, or just riding the wave?  Granted these are scary times for merely every adult with responsibilities, people must understand the importance of family and close ones – the essence of life.

The forms of dating vary across all relationships.  Common interests, activities, location, and many more factors such as the cost and coordination make dating simply overwhelming for most singles.  The news of how the economy is hitting long time lows are disturbing and raises the ever so popular question “should I really spend my hard earned money on this date or should I spend the evening in?”  Well, the answer to this merely yes but perhaps on a different level.  For instance, if you’re used to “wining and dining” a hottie you’ve been pursuing, turn on your natural charm and stay away from taking her to a 4 star restaurant for the first date.  Think about taking her to a quiet and cozy spot you know where the food is good (without breaking your wallet) and make good conversation - women love and admire a guy who can give her a good laugh.

Although this is simpler said than done, the human need for companionship and love will long outlast the economic turbulence.  This said, daters must look towards other means to break the dating faux pas of having to spend mad loot to get someone interested.  People need to genuinely present themselves and keep things real.

What's the general consensus on this?  Will more people lean more towards cool Internet dating sites such as www.asiantenz.com rather than spending absurd amounts of money [inflation sucks but recession blows] to meet someone and score a potential date?
